Horse Barn Inventions by John Sepich

22 December 2007

In early October the retina of my left eye spontaneously tore and began to detach.

The surgeon told me not to read, not to work on the computer.
But that I could watch television.
I didn’t flinch, I didn't crack a smile.

Yes, I could feel the stitches like sandpaper under that eyelid when I’d forgotten and accidentally read something with my good eye. But I did find that I could stare at the end of a ball-point pen and not feel the surgical eye scraping its lid.

What you have here fit generally under the heading “Horse Barn Inventions.”

I know that Cross-Tie Fuses owes a debt to someone unknown and unidentifiable, and say it’s here as a safety item, believing that excluding it is negligent.
I’m told that somebody had seen Catch Ropes in another barn, but I say they “came to me” as an avoidance of waste, and that I had not seen them before.

I guess I’d say to consider them in this order:

Clipper Caddy
On Hanging One's Fans
Mending Mats
Stall Door Repair
Blue Barn Tack Room
Groom Box
Ribbon Rack
Four Season Awnings
West Door Support
Winter Hose Hooks

Take Care.
All Best,

John Sepich.
